17 years after their hit album was released, Toughskins are back with 7 inches of street smart American Oi!. Written and fronted by the original song writer and bass player, Danny Oi!, the new songs are more of what you loved, but not what you expected. "Anger Management" is an unforgiving commentary on the American political system, while "Toughest Kids" gives a mature perspective on what its like to be the "toughest kid" (although not so mature that you stop yourself from punching the face of the person next to you). "Let's All" is an anthem that will bring bars, pubs and crowds to their feet chanting and celebrating at disturbing decibels. "The Beast" is a fan favorite that will have you asking, "If I'm the beast, what does that make you?" These four tracks are pure energy, with hard hitting rhythms, fresh melodies, and lyrics that are as thought provoking as they are addicting.
"wowowowowow!!!! I have been listening to the song [Anger Management] for the last 20 minutes, once and another and another... I love it!!! Don't know where to begin... well, I guess the beginning: It catches your ear in the very first second! No mercy, it throws you right in the middle of the song, feeling it. The sound is perfect, clean but raw and powerful but not overproduced, sounds like updated 90's American Oi! at it's best, nothing generic. Guitars are strong and straight and the bass leads the listener through the melody, which really got stuck in my brain. And I really like the way [Danny Oi!] sing[s], fits perfectly with the music and sounds the way it has to: angry as f**k but following the tune. And I also really like the lirycs. Again transmitting all the anger and giving a clear message without following into the topics and clichés. That's definitely a great job!...Congratulations to you and the rest of the Toughskins!"
