Album Notes
The Tour of Duty EP is a 5 track compilation featuring Abar records HipHop rosta. The EP features two brand new tracks from Hichkas, commonly referred to as the godfather of Persian HipHop, a brand new solo track from English language underground stalwart Reveal, a collaboration between Tehran based Quf and Paris based newcomer Fadaei who also has a solo track on the project. All tracks are produced, composed, programmed, arranged and mixed by Mahdyar Aghajani.
This project aims to showcase the diversity of Abar records individual artists, from the inner city London feel of “021LDN” by Reveal to the groundbreaking rhythm of “Anjām Vazife” by Hichkas to the hard hitting grittiness of “Shak” by Quf and Fadaei, the EP reflects the wide variety of styles and influences that the Abar rosta encapsulates.
The Tour of Duty EP is a vanguard example of the level of quality music that can be expected from Abar in the future and is a precursor of the imminent arrival of a record label that not only talks the talk but walks the walk and can truly deliver.
