ABOUT THIS ALBUM

Album Notes
Transient formed in November of 2007 after the breakup of Massive Meat Split (Julie, Dave, Adam) and Landlord (Krysta).

Massive Meat Split played for over 3 years. In the first year the band included Katherine (Sei Hexe and Nasalrod) on bass. Later, Massive Meat Split became Dave, Julie, Adam and Dwaz. Its sound was eclectic; an experimental fusion of thrashcore / grindcore with
erratic vocals and saxophone parts. The band did a few releases, toured the West Coast, and enjoyed a long time local following before its end in late 2007.

Some members had begun writing material
influenced by early grind acts such as; Napalm Death, Extreme Noise Terror, Terrorizer, Nausea (LA), and modern classics Nasum and Discordance Axis which caused dissension between Dwaz Cosmobot (vocalist/saxophonist) and the rest of the band.

Meanwhile Landlord, from Flagstaff AZ was relocating to Portland.

Landlord's dirging slow metal style and ambient tone showcased Krysta’s ripping-through, atrociously demonic, vocal style. Landlord recorded and released one 7 inch split with Arizona's Ashtaroth and toured the West Coast and Southwest before discontinuance as a result of unsuccessful relocation. The band went on hiatus indefinitely after two of its members decided to move back to Flagstaff AZ.

As a way to regroup and re-emerge Julie, Dave and Adam asked Krysta to practice with them using the new material they had written. It was a perfect fit. Two weeks later Transient played its first show in Seattle, WA.

The band began practicing and performing heavily in March 2008. They wrote a new set and recorded eleven songs at Smegma studios in Portland in June of 2008. Those tracks were used on a s/t 7 inch, various compilations, and a 7 split with Sale Sangre (aka Manias) from Albuquerque, NM.

As of now Transient is working on several split records on separate labels with Superbad (Pdx)and This Runs on Blood (Flg). Aside from playing every month in surrounding towns and states, Transient will be doing its second two week West Coast/Southwest/Mid West tour in March. It also has esteemed plans to play the East Coast, Canada, Mexico, and eventually Japan.

Bands Transient has played with include: Mind of Asian, Superbad, Elitist, Brujeria, Capitalist Casualties, Voetsek, Lords of Light, This Runs on Blood, Skarp, Skull Collector, Iron Lung, Silentist, Landmine Marathon,
Squalora, Final Draft, Flora, Raze, Arctic Choke, Sojourner, Marrow, Johnny X and the Groadies, Order of the Gash, Waco Fuck, Cheap Art, Inhaste, Manias, and many more.
