The Rit Mo Collective was founded by composer/multi-instrumentalist Christopher Farrell in NYC in November of 2005. The group draws upon elements of contemporary Americana, World, and Orchestral music to create transportive, ethereal, and cinematic soundscapes.
At the heart of the Rit Mo Collective's sound is a combination of Eastern and Western Instruments that blend to create a unique vibe; featured instruments include Mandolin, Pedal Steel, Indian Tabla, African Djembe, Guitar, Chinese Zhong Ruan, Violin, Cello, Timpani, and Drums.
The Rit Mo Collective’s debut album, Arianna’s Thread, is a concept album featuring a collection of related stories set to instrumental music. Each composition combines reality and fantasy; they are hybrids of people, places, experiences, that are REAL juxtaposed with elements of ancient Greco-Roman mythology to develop musical stories that are open to the interpretation of each listener. The music you hear is a mosaic that combines these elements of fact and fiction.
