New Metal Is Not Really Metal

For some fans of early Metallica and Megadeth, new metal is not really metal. Where
are the solos, the classical guitar interludes and dramatic vocals? Moberly , MO's
Tunghook incorporates elements of both schools, weaving System of a Down /
Korn-style riffs into classical metal structures. Highlights include "Hate," which is made
up of two distinctly different portions join by a guitar-only bridge, and "Scumstruck,"
the album's heaviest track with the menacing chorus You make me sick / I don't care
for your kind. Occasionally, the instrumentation on Mechanized in amazing, such as
crystal guitar work on "I Know" and the dazzling changes of pace on "Pipebomb." The
album's last few track fall prey to some of the symptoms that plagued mid-'80s metal:
mundane melodies and cheesy lyrics. However, Mechanized still offers plenty to please
metal and guitar rock fans, old and new. - Andrew Miller of ( Pitch Weekly / Kansas

The launch pad for one of the mid-west's best!
Tebow, Jarman and company have continued to impress mid-Missouri hard rock audiences for years...TUNGHOOK finds these guys tipping their hats at their metal influences while delivering memorable songs that stick in the brain. This '99 offering still holds up well and features a handful of the band's finest moments..."Hate" "I Know" and "Torn Between" all sport killer riffs and knock out choruses...as good as MECHANIZED is, it pails in comparison to the upcoming SHADOWS OF THE PAST release...a great studio band and solid live unit...TUNGHOOK should be signed by a label who wants a band that metal radio can sink its teeth into...good stuff and very recommended!

Hot stuff
Mechanized was awesome, but I'm telling you now. I heard some of the new material and it is Killer. Mechanized had a lot of shifting sounds, this next one is solid, and I'm sure it will be available here on CD BABY!!!
