ABOUT THIS ALBUM

Album Notes
The wait is over! Nick and Thomas cherry-picked the musicians who perform on this album. Keeping up with the tradition of Two Steps From Hell, there's great emphasis on power and memorable melodies, supported by a large orchestra and choirs. If you liked Invincible and Archangel, you will enjoy SkyWorld.

Awesome!
As always epic music ! I love it.

-1 Star because i cant buy it on CD !

Large variety!
Epic voices, extreme cross-over between different styles of music. "The End Is the Beginning" sounds like Ayreon, "All the Kings Horses" reminds me of Disney's Beauty & the Beast (my 12 month old daughter loves this song). And I can't seem to get enough of Thomas' voice in "Sun & Moon" & Nick's voice in "Back to the Earth". 5 Stars!!!

Only CD, Please
Once this becomes available on CD, I'll buy it.

Rise
Now, if you already love Two Steps From Hell then you don't need any convincing to buy this album, but if you've never heard them before and are a little curious. Read on. . .

Despite loving >90% of every TSFH song I've ever heard, I found Archangel to be something of a let down. Tracks like 'Nero' and 'Aesir' stood out amongst others which were (to my heart at least) a little dull. But SkyWorld is like all the good bits that Archangel was missing! An album with a more cohesive feel to previous TSFH releases, SkyWorld features numbers (like 'Breathe') which hearken back to previous tracks (Atlantis) and some truly unique instrumentation throughout. On 'For The Win' Bergersen and Phoenix have a string arrangement underscored with drums which calls to mind the idea of steel pans in a way that steel pans themselves cannot manage. While the artful use of bass sweeps in tracks like 'El Dorado' and 'All is Hell That Ends Well' Lend a high tech 'wild west' feel to the album that calls Serenity to mind in a good way. The eponymous track itself speaks in a passive voice about things to come with a passion that is anything but quiet and understated, while tracks like 'Realm of Power' and 'Winterspell' evoke visions of Disney in a manner that is neither trite or clichéd.
I have pretty much worn out (if that's possible to do to MP3's) my copy of Illusions (Thomas' solo release), waiting for the next instalment of pure epicness, and SkyWorld is precisely what I have been waiting for.

Once More!
First, thanks so much for the CD release!!
Another winner for Bergerson and Co. Total track time is the max 76 minutes :)
With so many new discs coming out from TSFH - including the magnificent 'Illusions', go buy it now if you haven't !- this CD nicely adds to the excisting library of epic trailer tunes.
There are some differences in some of the songs compared to the other discs which I feel like pointing out.
While the vocals are nothing short of outstanding I felt some of the tracks could benefit with a more varied lyric choice, track 2 being a good example. It starts out nice but 3 minutes of "I am strong, so strong" is probably a bit strechting it to keep interesting. ;) Track21 on the other hand is a nice addition that clearly departs from the usual TSFH fair and ventures more into the pop rock genre.
Having said that, the main core of this CD is still the familiar sounds we've come to love.
Tracks like "Skyworld" and "Winterspell" are pure Bergerson. Energetic, uplifting and spiraling upwards to an epic finish. I loved them the first time I heard them and they keep playing in your head long after the CD is done.
So does all the "All the Kings Horses" which - I can't think of a better description- sounds like Santa Clause wrapping gifts the night before christmas. "Big Sky" by Phoenix is suberb, the flutes, the muted choir shining through the entire orchestration, it was an instant fav.
The big masterpiece of this CD however is a track called "Blackheart". Love or hate Sony for using it for their ps4 campaign, it is a most moving piece of music that delights in its own right.
It's in tracks like these where time seems to freeze and for the duration of the song you're in another world.
Awesome work guys !!!
