“It is music’s lofty mission to shed light on the depths of the human heart” (Robert Schumann). This is especially true when referring to Tyronn Wilkins. His music reaches the heart and the soul. Tyronn Wilkins was born January 21, 1974 and is a native of Gaffney, South Carolina. His remarkable gospel career as a singer started at the early age of six in the church choir. Even then it was evident that this voice was a gift from God that could not be ignored by anyone who heard it. During his elementary school years, he expressed his God given gift throughout area churches by reaching into each congregation with a gift of song that touched each person who listened. He is the proud father of two children, TyRece and Ta’nisah Wilkins. He is a man of God equipped with the voice of the angels.
Tyronn was introduced to recording music in 1992 with Donald Lawrence and the Tri City Singers. His seven year tenure with Donald Lawrence exposed him to a wide variety of gospel music. This exposure provided him the opportunity to gain valuable knowledge of the gospel music industry. He used this knowledge to start the Anointed Voices Choir based out of Gaffney, South Carolina in 1998. In the year 2000, Tyronn was inspired to use his gift of voice and faith to redirect his focus from directing the Anointed Voices Choir to form his own group Fav’or.
Tyronn has song background for numerous artists during his career to include Stephanie Mills, Twinkie Clark, Dorinda Clark, and LeJuene Thompson. Along with his recording career, he currently serves as the Minister of Music at First Baptist Church of Roebuck (With God’s Recycling Ministry). Tyronn’s blessings have continued to multiply as he reaches the world with his music. Tyronn Wilkins & Fav’or were blessed by God as they recorded his debut project live at the Spartanburg Memorial Auditorium, Spartanburg, South Carolina on October 10, 2004. Featured artists were Lashun Pace, LeJuene Thompson, and the Canton Spirituals. All who witnessed this debut recording were touched and humbled by the experience.
Fav’or currently consists of seven vocalists from New York, Texas, South Carolina, Maryland, and Florida. The debut project was produced by the renounced Cedric Thompson. Currently singles from the project that are available are the songs “Better Day” and “Deserve”. When listening to this music, one can actually feel the wonders of and keys to the miracles of life.
Tyronn Wilkins uses his music as it is –a magnificent present that God has given him –to continue to foster the appreciation of gospel music by touching the lost through song and leading them to Jesus Christ. His music and his love for God are like wings of the soul striving to elevate us to feel closer to Jesus Christ. Tyronn Wilkins dream of being used as a true instrument for God is a reality. His music is truly the speech of angels meant to bring us nearer to God.
