TZVI EREZ, piano

One would be hard pressed to find a CD or album containing more desirable Chopin works than this particular product. Mr. Erez took careful steps to put together a program that Chopin lovers would appreciate. He surely succeeded by choosing works like several Préludes, Nocturnes, Études, Mazurka, Fantasie-Impromptu and Polonaise and last, but not least the beloved Ballade, Op 23 no. 1 – all this on one CD.

What makes this disc even more desirable is the brilliant and flawless interpretation by Mr. Erez of Chopin’s music, on a vintage 1912 Bosendorfer piano. He has an extremely wide ranging knowledge of music which is a tremendous asset to him. Furthermore the fact that he always strictly adheres to the composer’s writing is very admirable Concerned about sound quality ? Don’t be, it is superb. Treat yourself to something special – this is your opportunity to do so.

Music Critic

Remarkable Musicianship and Expressive
Tzvi Erez is a leader in classical piano who truly deserves the recognition and praise he receives globally. There are many renown pianists internationally; therefore, to be as prominent as he is indicates that he has very unique qualities. One is his music selection. All of his CDs have the most-loved repertoire, and I will comment on this perfectly played Chopin CD that will amaze you, fascinate you, and captivate you.

Tzvi Erez is a classical pianist extraordinaire, and without him, the true beauty of Chopin's genius would be unbeknownst to us. There are pianists, and then there is Tzvi Erez. What distinguishes him from all others is his star quality of play: Brilliant key strokes endowed with elegant trills, beautiful rubatos and arpeggios, magnificent phrasing, and a gorgeous interpretations that will charm you, and sweep you off your feet. He not only plays the music, but he also feels the music, and that is simple because he not only plays with his hands, but he also plays with his heart. Mr. Erez' Chopin romantics are like love expressed through music.

He has exceptionally refined technique due to his agility and perfect ambidexterity. He wrote the book on impeccabllity which is a reflection on how brilliantly he makes use of the pedal also. Many pianists' tone runs together like stew. But, Mr. Erez' unequaled precision and skill makes him the quintessential professional in judging when and how to optimize the use of both the soft, and the sustaining pedals. Proper use of the pedal is virtually as essential as playing the correct notes because failing to do so undercuts the melodic message that Chopin intended. In the final analysis, improper use will have your audience starving for the true texture of the piece.

And the list goes on and on about how Mr. Erez is instinctively unique, and how musically sophisticated he is. I cannot list them all, but I can guarantee that if you ever purchase this CD, you will agree with this review, and may even be compelled to write one of your own.
