Royal Brass Band has been in many news articles, and received many awards, proclamations, citations, resolutions, commendations from political, community, business and religious leaders for their work in the community and for showing support to the KATRINA tragedy.

Prior to the KATRINA tragedy, the U.C.C. Royal Brass Band performed with the famous Dirty Dozen Brass Band of New Orleans (http://www.dirtydozenbrass.com/). Following the KATRINA tragedy, the U.C.C. Royal Brass Band performed with the renowned REBIRTH Brass Band of New Orleans as well (http://www.rebirthbrassband.com/). We honor, respect and love our friends from the Dirty Dozen Brass Band and the Rebirth Brass Band. We will always cherish their fellowship and continue to help keep this wonderful music in the hearts and minds of many.

One of the U.C.C. Royal Brass Band's purposes is to keep the legacy, music, and history of musicians such as those of the New Orleans and southern area ALIVE. The culture of this style of Band is very rich and greatly appreciated in the United States and many parts of the world.

Jamal P. Dickerson, whom many call the GENIUS, has been playing the trumpet since the second grade of elementary school.
