ABOUT THIS ALBUM

Album Notes
V.1 - Vocalize & Breath is a thorough voice lesson consisting of a half hour of gentle vocal warms-ups followed by breathing exercises and advice on posture and training. Ariella Vaccarino, creator of Voice Lessons To Go™, guides you through the singing exercises, providing clear and easy-to-follow vocal examples to piano accompaniment.
For beginning singers, Vocalize & Breath is a great introduction and exposes those with little vocal training to the rudiments of singing instruction. The exercises are simple with less demanding ranges, easing you into voice training.
Teaches the basics of vocal exercises, known as vocalizing
Teaches proper techniques to avoid injuring the vocal chords
Focuses on breathing and how to use the body to sing – engaging the diaphragm, correct muscles and breath
Develops and strengthens the voice and vocal range

For professionals and more seasoned singers, Vocalize & Breath is the perfect daily warm-up to gradually wake up your vocal instrument; engaging your diaphragmatic muscles through proper breathing, creating a strong support system which allows you to sound and feel better during and after a performance. Because the vocal ranges are less demanding, it is a great for vocalizing before rigorous singing.

Breathing exercises help strengthen the voice and improve stamina for those with vocal fatigue
Improves vocal tone, power, and range

I am a beginner, that sang for herself all her life and I really liked to try these lessons. I bought all 4 CDs, but I would have loved a little guidance on how to use them - like first disc every day for 2 weeks, then start with the second - or all four together from the beginning twice a week...whatever - give me an advice please!
What would be the best way to use these four wonderful CDs?

Loved it!
This CD is great. I practice whenever I'm in the car, and after a only few days I noticed a difference. I have no delusions of grandure, my only goal is to not hurt those around me when I try to sing. I just enjoy singing more now that I know how to.

Great!
First of all, I didn't expect to receive the CD so quickly but that was the case...within a few days, it was at my front door...

After only a few practices I can already sense a difference and that thrills me.

Thanks CD Baby and Ariella!

Just what I needed
When I was through with the first half hour...I was sweating! This cd is the perfect vocal workout for me, and I know my voice will improve. I was also glad to be challenged and encouraged by Ariella's coaching throughout the lesson. I definitely recommend this purchase!

fun!
When i speak loud my voice comes out distorted - imagine that!!! I found very useful the breathing exercise.
I can't sing yet ;p

Excellent CD
After only 3 weeks of practicing with this cd, my singing voice is noticably stronger. I like Ms. Vacarrino's pleasant voice and teaching style. I'm glad I made this purchase.

There's now no excuse
The truth is I haven't been able to afford regular lessons with everything else I need to pay for right now. This is a brilliant idea, I can take it anywhere- there's no excuse not to practice for my shows.

First CD of an Incredible Set!
This is not only a great introduction to singing for the beginner, it is also a great warm up and relaxation tool for more advanced singers. What you learn on this CD will not only help you to move on to the next few volumes, but it will provide you with an excellent base with which to begin the serious study of singing as an art which, much like this CD, gives back infinitely more than you put into it. For all you guys out there interested in singing, it's even better for us because she sings a whole octave above normal baritone which means you can sing an octave below her and it will sound fine while extending your range well into the bass realm, or you can sing with her and try to extend your range higher. An indispensable tool!!!

It worked for me!
I recently used the CD for a vocal warm up before a show and it made a huge difference. Thank you Ariella!

At times good; at times bad; at times very ugly.
I was very excited to buy this CD, but upon listening to it I was very disappointed. First off, I did like the ideas and patterns to strengthen the voice, create fluidity and extend vocal range. However, I quickly found that Ms. Vaccarino's approach was seriously flawed. She introduces each pattern at a normal speed, but then often halfway through seems to get bored and speeds up the pattern. Now, in teaching music there is nothing wrong in developing fluency through increasing tempo, but not when a pattern is very new or barely established. I am a seasoned piano teacher and performer and I found myself going WT*? at these tempo changes. This approach made it really hard to get the pattern down and consolidate it. Simply put, it became silly and tiring to. I would suggest she re-record these tracks, keep each one at a steady beginner's tempo, and list higher tempos audio clips on a website. Unless you are grounded in the individual exercise, ie have bought the CDs or downloads, it is unlikely anyone is going to try and attempt these daunting and complicated patterns.

My biggest beef, though, was in the actual production values of the recording. There were times when Ms. Vaccarino hits a note flat. The first time I heard her do that I winced in pain. I mean, how can a SINGING TEACHER not notice and/or let that go by and keep that in a recording? Plus the piano chords are sloppy and out of time. I'm just amazed that a professional singer and singing teacher would release commercial material in this day and age that contains big musical errors, and points to lazy production values.

I have no personal or professional grudge against Ariella Vaccarino. I can't believe that she allows her impatience and desire to double time the musical patterns and shoddy and shocking production values to be released onto the market. It truly ruins what could be a really great product. My recommendation: re-record this set: make all exercises a standard tempo for a decent duration, make sure you are always singing IN TUNE and that the piano playing is executed perfectly.
