ABOUT THIS ALBUM

Album Notes
Dinosaurs Are Coming Back Again--For anyone who questions what offerings they can still make, this song says: Be encouraged. I love Nick Ashford's fairy tale-real lyrics here. We actually got the "Dinosaur" feeling once in a major record company's office -while waiting for an appointment with a top Exec. We didn't get the deal, but we got this song out of it. Make It Up As We Go- is the last recorded vocal of the late great Nina Simone. She consented to do this haunting duet with me in the South of France and it was an experience I'll never forget. Ain't No Mountain High Enough..Fans of "Stuff", the band might recall hearing a version of this instrumental as played by the late great Richard T. I extended it adding an opening and chorus at the end as bookends. Love Never Dies- I love the quirky story
here ...It's like a video you can see in your mind and it moves me personally cause the message is so true.

A Welcomed Return to Music!
I was ecstatic when I heard that Valerie Simpson's solo album, "Dinosaurs Are Coming Back Again" had been released. I immediately placed my order, without wasting any time listening to the sound clips. Knowing Valerie, I automatically knew that it would be a good album. I was right!

She wrote these songs with the late Nick Ashford (Rest in Peace). Many of the songs have a smooth jazz vibe to them. I love smooth jazz! As with many of Ashford and Simpson's past productions, the lyrics on this album are also positive and uplifting. When I initially saw the title, "Dinosaurs Are Coming Back Again", it made me raise my eyebrow. However, upon listening to this particular track multiple times, it has a deeper positive message of strength and survival to it, which many of us can relate to.

This album is soulful, funky, jazzy and smooth. Fans will not be disappointed in Valerie's latest offering. One can only hope there will be more music to come!

"Welcome Back My Most Favorite Songwriter On the Planet"
A dear friend put an album on, and said; "Listen to this." The album cover was a photograph of you sitting on a stool, dressed like a rainbow. To my knowledge, no one had ever put two different arrangements of the same song on their album (GENIUS). It was also the first time I had ever loved every song on an album so much. (SILLY WASN'T I) is still a favorite. Ellis Bell gave me your album. Once I got it home, with earphones on, I listened intently to your every melodic word. My awe was due to the fact that you had written all the songs. After experiencing your gift, I wanted to be a songwriter too. Then, (GIVE ME SOMETHING REAL) took over the top spot in my heart. I had to purchase it two more times, because I literally played it to death. I fully expect (Dinosaurs Are Coming Back Again) will be loved even more. Welcome back, and congratulations on this new project my most favorite songwriter on the planet! Sending you and your loved ones lots of positive energy, and prayerful well wishes of ongoing success, health, joy, peace and prosperity in every area and level of life. Continue to have a blessed day and life. Janice Marie Singleton

Was a 40 year wait worth it?
I have Valerie's first two solo albums (on Motown) and they are just outstanding (you can actually get these now on one CD). When I saw that Valerie was releasing another solo album, I just had to complete my collection. Was the 40 year wait worth it - you bet!
