ABOUT THIS ALBUM

Album Notes
Ricky Vaughan has appeared twice on TNN, performing "Give a Little Love Back" on "American Magazine," and "She Makes Your Heart Tell Lies," when he was interviewed by Rob Weller. Other performances have included the New Orleans Jazz & Heritage Festival, and numerous appearances at the Bluebird Cafe in Nashville, Tennessee. After taking a short break from performing, Ricky produced a CD, Zebra in a Cowfield.

In a spellbinding acoustic solo work, Ricky performs a combination of his deeply artistic and catchy lyrics and melody. His writing combines elements of classical, jazz, and rock into a single fluid style of his own. His single guitar often sounds like more, providing the perfect texture for his intimate and ethereal vocals.

The spirit of Micheal Hedge
When I heard the first track I almost started crying. It is the spirit of Michael Hedges. The guitar and vocals are amazing!!! The lyrics are deep and meaningful. This is not a CD to be casually listen too. It is a journey of emotion and experiance packaged in glorious music.

MY MY MY
Having meet Ricky and befriended him over 20 years ago, I need to say this.............Never have I ever heard anything more real or pure, outside of the voices of my own children. This man reaches way down in to the very depths of his soul,,,,,pulls up what he grabs and hands it to you with a kiss a hug and lots of love...don't miss the oppurtunity to experience him.....it is a journey worth taking.......

Unique poprock music with a hint of Jazz
I saw Ricky at the Bluebird Cafe in Nashville and was very impressed by his unique style of music. The chord changes in his music along with playing in open tunings gives it a unique acoustic contemporary pop\rock feel with a hint of Jazz. It's not often you find an artist who has a style all their own and who's not trying to sound like everyone else. So if your tired of the same ole thing I would advise you to check out Ricky's music. Well, actually I would advise you to check out this CD anyway or at least sample it. Don't miss out. No one wants to be a Zebra in a cowfield.
