F Zero

by Venom Lab

Electropunk out of LA! Guitars that shred harder than Malibu from American Gladiator, keyboards more crack laced than Tony Danza on a saturday night & drums that beat harder than Dolf Lundgren. This italo disco throwback band puts the party in Partycore!

ABOUT THIS ALBUM

Album Notes
Venom Lab is a band originating from Los Angeles. Founded around 2007 by brothers Wesley and Stephen Richards as an escape from the harsh reality of Grand Theft Auto San Andreas, they put together a demo of italo disco influenced songs set to traditional punk bpm's and song structures. They then got together with drummer Ivan Drago who helped build the complex and technical drum patterns that make up the band's signature sound. They combined elements of nintendocore, punk, electronica, disco, metalcore, rock, death metal, pop, jazzcore, dance, electro, awesomecore, ska, hardcore, and buttcore among others. Quickly a cult following would arise, which the band attributed to the influence of the album Arise by Sepultura, but was actually due to the increasing popularity of the band's YouTube videos.

Their first release The Bertram Van Munster Chronicles came out to rave critical reviews. It was one of the top electropunk partycore albums of 2010 in the Los Angeles area, success the band credits to the rise in both violence and musicals. Cannibal Corpse and Deicide are also listed as key ingredients to the band's first album, an obvious influence throughout the album's entirety.

Released in March of 2013, their sophomore release F Zero is the band's second album and the most technical and structurally evolved effort to date. The band lists icons Kavinsky and Lightforce as major influences during the writing and production of the album, and their particular styles shine throughout the album. The album takes their signature sound to new heights, mostly due to the introduction of bath salts into the LA area, but also due to angel dust's continuing prevalence. That and a lot of old school Nintendo.
