ABOUT THIS ALBUM

Album Notes
Especial guest Eddie Zervigon on flute and the best salsa musicians from Cali Colombia. Produced by La Tropa Records and Verny Varela.

This album chronicles one of the most challenging periods in my life: full of its sad times, defining moments, and triumphs. And since music has long been my way of articulating life experiences, "Evolución" was birthed as a result of this growing process that I went through.
I would like to thank all the musicians who gave of their time and talents - Jorge "Kini" Murillo, Ricardo Sabogal, and Eddy Zervigon; Hugo Latorre and Kenny Wesley; my father, Hernando Varela; and my fiancée, Andrea Caldas. I dedicate this album in loving memory of my mother, Miriam Ruíz de Varela. Gracias a Dios y a la Virgen María... mira ve!
