Born out of my annual TX pilgrimage to "get the band" back together and originally titled Feedstore Metaphor, it began when I threw a few one liners out between sets to get a reaction from the guys. Soon everyone was throwen' out lines & ideas for what became Hayride Driveby - the ultimate "farm boy having an identity crisis as a rap star" tribute.
We did manage to "get the band" back together at the annual "2010 Shane Dig" in San Antonio and bear in mind we were an old school punk band that dominated our local high school + club scene back in the day - which ain't sayen' a-lot - but hailing from TX we're a proud bunch. So anyway, having nothing to lose, we tried our quirky version of an unfinished country-rap song and it was a hayride-hit!
I returned back to MI tossing around ideas. Then via email I received drum beats from friend Leo and beat box + critter sounds from friend Donny. Their interest fueled my experimental fires and it was time to take care of biz. So armed with my new creative alias, Vic Dean, I offer my attempt at a hip-hoppen', flip-floppen, hay-bailen, joy ride! Thanks to my Texas brothers for keepen' it freaky-farm-fresh and I hope you enjoy and laugh as much as we have....I've been thinking about some video ideas...so stay tuned!
The power of music will forever amaze me. - VD
