ABOUT THIS ALBUM

Album Notes
Vic Dean - SAFETY DUNCE

Woke up, slapped a capo on an electric guitar to see what would happen - behold my first cover song by 80's Band - Men Without Hats, the Safety Dance. Never planned to record a cover tune or much less cover THIS song - can't say I was ever particularly fond of it back in the day - of course I was too poor for cable to watch "eMpTy V" to appreciate the bizarre video YouTube just served up...whatev. I'm not sure how "SAFE" I ever am or even if I'm an advocate of any specific form of safety...I suppose I've had an average safe life although I'm not entirely sure what a below average un-safe life would exactly be like...HONESTLY would have to get back to you on my position on SAFETY these days.

Call it divine un-inspiration as I layed down metros, guitars, then suckered the wife to spell S A F E T Y for me, then sent a scratch session from the home studio in Michigan to Drummer Leo Moreno in Texas, who added some killer skins! Got it back, tweaked it, lined up royalties to the original artist, Men Without Hats (GOMA - just tryin to be legit) and will release it as the first single from my CONSPIRASCENE project. So now it's time to let the dogs out for their midnight poop, maybe I'll put the leash on real tight just in case the Red Tailed Hawk living on the kids play-set decides to snack...can never be too safe I suppose...

By the way - Vic Dean still has no clear endgame w/his music/art. Although he surfaces on the music / download scene from time to time in one place or another, he feels the most safe at home with his feet in the kiddy pool.
