ABOUT THIS ALBUM

Album Notes
Deep Fat Fryer came as a surprise to me! I have been involved with music all my life, but writing never occurred to me until the material basically presented itself. Then the actual work came. I was fortunate to have execellent arrangers in Jay Ansill, Larry Cohen and Matt Shelosky and a host of amazing, generous musicians.

This CD offers: just plain, raucous fun in Deep Fat Fryer (love that brass), the swing of Dance With Me, and the beautiful strings in when Stars Fall, written for a friend who died. There is some rock and even a little tongue-in cheek social commentary. I wanted to explore as much diversity as possible so there is even a didgeridoo which is far more fun than I ever realized! The great joy of this music came from saying "yes" to as many ideas as possible while maintaining a sense of cohesiveness. And we hope to continue on this path on the second CD which is in progress.
