ABOUT THIS ALBUM

Album Notes
"Vince Junior shows great skill and originality with his acoustic and resonator guitar work. His songs have a nice, funky groove to them, and are deceptively subtle with a nice turn of phrase." Dirty Linen

"...In my opinion, with Better Than A Wheel (1997), Vince Junior made an ultimate masterpiece. Nothing less than absolutely recommended." Rootstown Magazine, Belgium

"These are breath-of-fresh-air tunes...sit back, grab a cool drink, and plop this one in. Great acoustic material...traditionally respectful of folk, country and acoustic rockin' beats.(Better Than a Wheel) "
Big City Blues

great guitar work. original
In my business, I am given lots of cd's by various artists. I played this one for a friend from Austin and we were both blown away. This is some of Vince's best work. He can hold his own against any slide/resophonic player.

AWESOME
Couldn't decide which CD I liked better, so I bought both. I'm glad I did - both Better Than a Wheel and Heading Home have awesome tunes. Clever lyrics and great beat got by 40 some year old body back to running. My 8 and 10 year old girls request songs back to back to listen to while in the car. It's great to have music the whole family can enjoy. To me Vince Jr's voice has great resonance and his music is both relaxing and energizing. Keep it up Vince and make more music!

Very interesting lyrics, smooth, gripping guitar and musicianship. Yay!

A great player and storyteller
This is a great collection of songs - they are all well written and beautifully performed. A couple of them hit home pretty hard. Vince is a true storyteller in the tradition of John Prine and Tom Waits...thank you Vince, and keep it up.

Don't miss out
These are first rate arrangements. The resonator has a unique and compelling sound to listen to. Great harmonica. An easy swaying beat on every tune. Vince Junior's whiskey-throated vocals come out convincing and bluesy. Very visual lyrics, strong, emotional storytelling.

Wow. I stumbled onto another keeper. Great CD!
What can I say? Every time I come out to CDBaby I end up finding another CD I can't live without. Heading Home is full of great songs, great grooves, great finger-pickin and slide work on that old National, and Vince's vocals are ... uh...have I over-used the word Great?

Acoustic Pleasure
Consistently enjoyable from beginning to end. No "heady" lyrics, just a unique vocal styling that sends you to a gentler place.
