Ignition

by Virtue & the Vice

Starting with a friendly, coquettish girl group sound , and then gradually into deeper and darker ideas put to music that add to the mystery and visceral feel of tracks 2 through 4. Then the mood turns a little prog-rock, and finally upbeat again.

ABOUT THIS ALBUM

Album Notes
All songs are written by a singer/sonwriter based in Orange County and Los Angeles County areas, CA (USA). Heavily influenced by singers like Pat Benatar, Terri Nunn, Deborah Harry, Martha Davis, Joan Jett, Suzie Quattro, and Josie Cotton. Many of the songs in this introductory CD have a vibe similar to some of these artists, and others from recent years such as Pink and Kelly Clarkson. "Virtue & the Vice" has an appreciation for many styles and genres including gothic rock with female vocals, and tries to bring a variety of ideas, emotion, life experience and perspectives to life in songs selected for recording. As Terri Nunn once put it, (paraphrasing here...) female singers should be a little of everything in their music! The primary singer/songwriter of Virtue & the Vice began with her first recording project after writing 4 CDs worth of songs. The oldest track on this CD is Formula for Love written in 1989, but not produced until 2012. The next CD is already in production. A rock, new wave, and electronica enthusiast, Virtue & the Vice is also intersted in world music and exotic sounds such as sitar, reverse cymbals, any animal-like sounds a guitar can make as well as anything that sounds dark or quirky, mysterious, or all out aggressive. Variety is the great objective! Virtue & the Vice never wants one track to sound like the next, or one CD to sound like the next!
