ABOUT THIS ALBUM

Album Notes
Indian-American composer and singer Aks presents Virya, a visual album which pays homage to the sweeping melodies of Indian cinema over the years. For his first solo project, Aks incorporates global bass and the hip-hop aesthetic, which plays a major role in the sonic landscape. The project is not without collaboration however, as it combines the efforts of a number of Hindi lyricists and features guest vocalists Vasanth S and Jenay McNeil. Thematically, Virya explores the triumph of the human spirit in the face of adversity and hearkens to the resilience intrinsic in human nature.
