Album Notes
With its complex range of emotional and reduced compositions to virtuoso performance and complex structures, they carry the listener on a journey through cultures and emotions.

Goetze, who studied in Cologne with Markus Stockhausen, already implemented a large number of joint projects for ten years with the gifted kora player Ablaye Cissoko - a fascinating combination of Western and African music, without drifting into ethno music.

In 2007 the New York based composer, filmmaker and trumpeter Volker Goetze founded the Volker Goetze Orchestra. Young, inspired and award-winning musicians can be found in his ensemble as well as old hands like Lenny Pickett (Tower of Power) and Michael Mossman (Art Blakey's Jazz Messengers, Dizzy Gillespie's United Nation Orchestra).
