ABOUT THIS ALBUM

Album Notes
The Vox Lucens vocal ensemble was born in 1998 when friends gathered to explore the a capella Renaissance repertoire. Under the direction of Jay Lane, we develop programs combining popular favorites with lesser-known works, often in our own editions. Our first CD features pieces that speak to singer and listener alike. They touch the heart and soul in that quiet way of Renaissance singing, and we return to them often.

Vox Lucens, Latin for "a shining voice," captures the sound for which we strive. Each individual voices has its own character, but our blended sound breathes fresh life into works of centuries past.
