Album Notes
This collection of original fingerstyle acoustic guitar tunes will leave you wanting more. Recorded direct to DAT with no overdubs, the CD is straight forward fun. Think Chet Atkins meets Jimi Hendrix. You heard right. Mike uses a myriad of alternate tunings and unorthodox techniques to express a wide range of emotions in these very melodic pieces. You'll catch yourself wondering 'How the hell did he do that! And just how many fingers does this guy have?' He's been referred to as a 'fingerpicker extraordinaire' and his music as 'a playful dance across the fingerboard.'

Mike started out playing solo for school ice cream socials, and moved on to the the garage band scene in jr. high and high school. Taking it a step farther, Mike earned a BA in guitar, and a masters in theory and composition. After school, Mike took a job playing a wide variety of instruments in the pit orchestra for a local dinner theater. He took a stab at touring, but after a couple of years found that smelling like diesel fuel wasn't exactly part of his dream.

Upon returning to his hometown of Moline, Il., Mike did the cover tune bar band thing. It didn't take long to decide that his heart was really in acoustic music, so he returned to composing and performing solo. He performs regularly in the Iowa/Illinois region where he has quite a loyal following. Years of customizing and hot-rodding his own equipment eventually led to the opening of his own business, Wallace Music, where he can be found repairing and restoring string instruments.

One word: Amazing.
Mike Wallace is hands down the best guitar player I have ever listened to, and that is no lie. One would think there are multiple guitar players in every song, but it is only Mike. I strongly suggest any of these albums. Amazing.

Mike does it again.
Mike Wallace never ceases to impress me with his unique style. This album is no exception. After seeing Mike live, I noticed that he is more than just an average musician. Right away you can tell that his passion for music is very real. The tunes on this album take you to places in your heart and mind and I can't say that about alot of music these days. This is a very good cd well worth every penny. Check it out.
