Album Notes
Experience the unusual: it has been written their music offers journeys from Naviglio to Rio de la Plata, with stops at brothels in Paris, turkish baths, cuban caves and smokey jazz-clubs in New York. But, beyond geography, Mala Hierba is and experiment devoted to inventiveness, free expression and contamination, featuring musicians who love to break out of the mould.
Written and produced by guitar-player and composer Walter Marocchi, "Alisachni" is the band's second album, following their 2009 debut "Impollinazioni", awarded as Best Italian Instrumental Album. This second work features an even more eclectic musical approach: from jazz to tango, from rock to greek traditional music, from latin to folk, a migratory journey to the roots of "popular music", with a unique twist of invention. A blend of electric and acoustic, intrumental and vocals, with songs in spanish, turkish and greek.
