ABOUT THIS ALBUM

Album Notes
Shortly after the biannual Dachs Fests began in the early '90s, Adrian Milton, the founder, suggested to songwriter Murray Weinstock that he compose a theme song to celebrate their favorite dog.

Murray discussed the idea with his friend and fellow dachshund owner, Paul de Vries. Paul supplied some TOP DOGGEREL and together they came up with the Dachs Song. The song has became a favorite among Dachshund owners everywhere!

Murray has performed with many recording artists like Manhattan Transfer, Esther Phillips, Randy Van Warmer and John Sebastian (hear his piano and vocals on the theme of Welcome Back, Kotter) Weinstock has boasted at times of being a member of two 50's singing groups, one that performed "oldies" from the 1950's called The Planotones, and another group, The Canby Singers that performed older "oldies" music from the 1550's through the 1850's! On 'The Dachs Song,' Murray sings the lead and is accompanied by a spirited quartet of Canby Singers alumni.
