ABOUT THIS ALBUM

Album Notes
John Westmoreland is a solo acoustic guitarist who uses alternate tunings and harmonic overtones to add depth and emotion to his recordings.

'Against The Grain' showcases the unconventional style and broad influences of this unique artist. Twelve original compositions make up this recording, two of which are dedicated to the artists named, whom John considers to be among his greatest influences, and who's styles can be heard in them.

Largely self-taught, John grew up absorbing the works of guitarists Leo Kottke, John Fahey and Earl Klugh, and, singer/songwriters Guthrie Thomas and Nick Drake. These as well as many others have left thier mark on his work.

John Westmoreland writes, plays, records and produces all his own music his own way. Against The Grain!

Other recordings include: 'Earthtones'
'Portraits On Acoustic Guitar'
'Acoustic Mayhem'
'Hand Picked'
****Coming in Aug. 07', John's new cd, 'Resonant Frequency'. 11 all new original tunes, plus 3 classics on acoustic guitar!****
