Album Notes
West of Eden is a Swedish band that for a decade has thrilled audiences with their unique blend of Celtic traditional music and contemporary folkrock.

The highest of songwriting standards combined with the extraordinary voice of singer Jenny Schaub has earned them a solid reputation amongst critics around the globe.
Their latest release “Four” was no exception to the rule. Irish Music Magazine wrote “West of Eden brings us the best of contemporary folk in a Celtic idiom” while Folk & Roots described it as ”Innovative, imaginative, lyrical, melodic, and inspirational”

West of Eden has toured Ireland, Benelux and Scandinavia. The band has played at the Celtic Connections Festival in Glasgow, Scotland, and will next year perform a multimedia concert with songs from their fantastic new album “The West of Eden Travelogue” together with members of the Swedish National Orchestra at the Concert Hall in Gothenburg.

Other collaborations throughout the years have featured Scandinavian Strings, Irish singer/songwriter Marian Bradfield and John McGlynn & Róisín Dempsey from Anúna who has performed with West of Eden at their sold out “Celtic Christmas” concerts 2007 & 2008.

A concert with West of Eden is a journey between intimate acoustic storytelling and catchy folkrock, always performed with love and respect for the Celtic tradition.

Expressive and insightful!
It's been a few years since I heard and reviewed West of Eden's well-produced album "Four" that brims with original music from a Swedish group that has developed its own unique and personalized signature contemporary folk sound with Celtic and soft rock influences. I enjoy both their vocal and instrumental work. Their songs are innovative, imaginative, lyrical, and melodic. Besides being easy on the aural sense, West of Eden's messages can be expressive and insightful. Multi-instrumentalist Martin Schaub is a key player in the mix, and the rest of the band also lay right into the overall musical groove. Simply put, I think you'll also find their multi-genre material and musicianship to be a listening experience with broad appeal, widespread acceptance and considerable rewards . Together since 1995, West of Eden is a band deserving of a larger audience for their original music. (Joe Ross, 29 Palms, CA)
