ABOUT THIS ALBUM

Album Notes
The White Iron Band is Good Timin', Foot Stompin', Honky Tonkin', Good Ol' American music with a familiar groove, but has a definite unique flavor. The band's roots extend from the Iron Range and the North woods of Minnesota to the neon downtowns of Minneapolis and St. Paul, and their varied experiences are reflected in their music. The White Iron Band's distinctive style comes from a mix of commanding lead vocals, beautiful harmonies, bad ass guitar, pedal steel licks, double keyboards, melodic fiddle, and a driving rhythm section. These guys never fail to get people out of their seats and dancing all night.

"'Best Drinking Band'Duluth Hall of Fame"
Weekly Reader,Duluth,MN

The White Iron Band started their musical adventure in the cold northern town of Ely, MN. After two years of playing to the wild and crazy crowd on the range, the band knew it was time to bring their show to Minneapolis. After months of playing various clubs in the city, the White Iron Band found its home at the Five Corners Saloon on the historic and musically renowned West Bank of Minneapolis. The band had played every Thursday night for 3 years to large and enthusiastic crowds and has developed a fiercely loyal fan base. In the spring of 2003, the White Iron Band said goodbye to its Thursday night gig and has started to tour the Midwest, growing their fan base and spreading their music.

"Wrapping up the best of each style, from echoes of Dylan to Little Feat to current countrified artists like Jason White, "Take It off the Top" sings out with hearty songs, mixing Americana, folk rock, roots rock, 70's rock, jam band and even a hint of banda. No matter which way it leans, there is always a constant sense of rural America, the common man's day to day struggles and hopes, the outlaw, the open road and the sun baking down on southern fields in summertime."
- Derek Sivers, CDBaby.com

The White Iron Band is promoting their self-titled LP, which represents the ever-growing repertoire of original music. The songs range from the outlaw country of "Borderline," to the smooth melodies of "San Diego," as well as the good time drinking tunes, "Minnesota Song," and "High's Low's." The energy and synergisms that give the band its explosiveness and excitement are here to behold on every song. After selling over 1000 CD's and receiving an extensive amount of airplay throughout the northland, the White Iron Band has become a grass roots success. The band has finished there second CD and released it in the Winter of '05.

"'Take it off the Top' , arguably the best studio album ever issued by a Minnesota jam band"
"One of the Top Ten Minnesota album's of '05"
- Chris Riemenschneider, Star Tribune, Minneapolis,MN

The White Iron Band has been traveling the north for a good while and has the opportunity to share shows with such acts as Warren Haynes, Derek Trucks, Particle, The Big Wu, Arrested Development, Willie Waldman, Leftover Salmon, Buckethead, Les Claypool, the Black Crows, Shooter Jennings, and Widespread Panic. They have also opened for Country legends like Sherwin Linton, Stonewall Jackson, Tommy Cash, and Marvin Rainwater. The White Iron Band has been bringing good music to good people all over the North and has become a staple in the Minnesota music scene.

"The eight-piece group manhandled white-lightning two-steps and R&B waltzes while paying homage to outlaw country and early country-rock,(about 'Take It Off The Top', Cd release party at the Cabooze,2005)"
-Dylan Hicks, City Pages, Minneapolis,MN

" 'Take It Off the Top.' There's nothing earth shattering on it, but it's a massively well-crafted wild ass Country record. There's booze, jail, airplanes, dope, and more booze on this album, and I like it just a little more each time I listen to it."
-Jack K. Sparks, Other Side of Country Radio Show (1220am) Minneapolis,MN

Kick Ass Rockin'
This CD was just about everything that I had expected. Though it does not conver the power and energy of their live shows but it is about as close as you can get. Check out the CD and better yet check them out LIVE, they ROCK!!!!!!!!!!!

Take it off the top and BUY IT!!!
This is some really great stuff. In a world that is stuggling to keep good music alive, White Iron's new release Take it Off the Top is perfoming CPR. There ain't nuthin' like Minnesota-grown Outlaw Country Blues and there has never been so much of it all packed together for you listening pleasure (except for White Iron's first CD, perhaps). Buy it, love it, and spread the word: White Iron Band knows how to get 'er done.

Minnesota Rock!
Such a fun, high energy band and this cd showcases it all. I've been seeing them locally here in Minnesota for awhile now and they've become one of my favorite bands. Some ballads, some rock, some blues, some bluegrass.. it's great stuff.
