ABOUT THIS ALBUM

Album Notes
Maborosi is Japanese for a trick of light, an illusion.
In 2009 singer Yuka Kawabe recorded a number of traditional Japanese and Tibetan songs in Willem Hendrikse's recording studio, without accompaniment of musical instruments. Willem then proceeded to weave beautiful instrumental creations around these haunting melodies using all the musical influences from his rich cultural background. This first volume of eclectic pieces is the result.
Yuka Kawabe is a singer, musician and artist from Kobe City, Japan.
Willem Hendrikse is a singer, songwriter and musician from Curacao, Netherlands Antilles, nowadays living in the Netherlands.
