"I was born with music inside me, like my ribs, my kidneys, my liver, my heart. Like my blood…(and) from the moment I found out there were keys to be mashed, I started mashing 'em, trying to make notes out of feelings."
-Ray Charles Robinson
If you're looking for the current embodiment of these sentiments Ray Charles conveyed during the golden age of popular music, look no further than Indiana's own Will Foraker. Start with some soul-drenched blues and grooze jazz piano, mix in an incredibly eclectic set of influences from the Gershwins & Cole Porter to Led Zeppelin and Gregg Allman, and cap that with exuberant, irrepressibly joyous live performance--you've got a recipe for what the music world is in need of today.
An Indiana boy born & raised, Will started playing the piano when he was only 6 years old. He's currently splitting his time between playing shows in Indiana with the Leonard Washingtons (a jam / rock band with groove for days), and working as an entertainer for Celebrity Cruises. With credits on a handful of studio albums from various midwestern artists, and over a decade of performance credits at various jazz and rock festivals throughout Indiana and the rest of the midwest, Will is now on the fast track to a promising career as a fresh voice in popular jazz and soul music.
