ABOUT THIS ALBUM

Album Notes
William Star has been in the making for over a decade for singer / songwriter Ryan Schuehle (Chimestone, Splendor). Sparked by his passion for writing catchy, yet thought-provoking melodies, Ryan went in to a kind of musical hiding and crafted dozens of songs that spoke to his heart and brought out a style that is always unique, but also very familiar. Ryan drew on some of his most influencial artists (The Smiths, The Charlatans, The Shins, The Church) to finally put out the record that he'd dreaming to record for a very long time. With tremendous help from Jonathan Plum and a cast of amazing musicians at London Bridge Studios, This High Yellow was recorded and produced over the summer of 2011 in Seattle. William Star was finally born. The songs are meant to be absorbed, and will keep you listening ... and singing (and thinking) over and over again.
