Rev. Audrea Fumbanks-Ivy, Pastor
The Willie B. Clay Inspirational Choir, under the direction of Brenda E. Sims-Thomas has been in existence for over 35 years. Their newly assigned Pastor is Rev. Audrea Ivy. Formally known as the Inspirational Choir, they renamed the choir after the untimely death of one of their former Pastors, Rev. Dr. Willie B. Clay Sr. who was also their former District Superintendent in the Southern District of the Northern Illinois Conference of the United Methodist Church. They have travelled all over America in the early years, touring and singing in many United Methodist Churches. They visited such cities as Atlanta, Georgia, New York, New York, Orlando, Florida, Los Angeles, California, New Orleans, Louisiana, Detroit, Michigan, Omaha, Nebraska, Minneapolis, Minnesota, and Washington, D.C. just to name a few. They have sung all over the Northern Illinois conference. Some musicians have been Pastor Dwayne Grant (Resurrection UM Church), Anita Gathing-Green, Eve Lynn Scott, Carl Winfrey, Karen Lee, Irving Collier, Mark Burnell and Pat Hough. They are very excited about this project that they are undertaking which is a Live CD recording of mostly original songs written by Pastor Dwayne Grant, Irving Collier, Leonard Maddox (Fellowship M.B. Church), Pastor Julie Maddox, Arthur Williams(Albuquerque, New Mexico), Rev. Russell Harris, Brenda Thomas and record producer Joe Wright along with other artists. The musical director for this endeavor is Leonard Maddox. Director Brenda E. Sims-Thomas has had this dream and vision of recording a CD for the choir for many years. God has truly blessed us, and with the support of many friends from the United Methodist Church, that dream is coming true.
