The 2012 SVF Winners' CD features live concerts in Salzburg at the baroque church, Müllner Kirche, and the legendary Great Hall of the rococo palace, Schloss Leopoldskron. http://www.schloss-leopoldskron.com. In 1736, Schloss Leopoldskron was built as a prestigious residence of Prince Archbishop of Salzburg. Count Laktanz became later on the very first patron of Leopold Mozart and the young Wolfgang Amadeus. At the present, Leopoldskron is not only considered to be the "birth place" of the world's most prestigious music festival, "Salzburger Festspiele," through the artistic partnership that the celebrated artist Max Reinhardt, poet Hugo v. Hofmannsthal and composer Richard Strauss developed back in the 1920's; but it is also the venue, where the popular movie "Sound of Music" was filmed in 1964.
The Salzburg Voice Festival is one of the world's most sought after voice summer festivals as well as a distinguished, international and intensive learning environment for exceptionally talented singers specializing on the Golden Age of Singing in the genres of Opera, Art Song and Oratorio. SVF not only aims to offer to its singers an exceptionally intensive musical training but a complete artistic guidance and dedicated support to further their artistic careers.
