Fr. Bill Garrott, O.P. is a member of the Order of Preachers (commonly known as the Dominican Order) which was founded by St. Dominic de Guzman in 1216 to preach the truth of Jesus Christ for the salvation of souls. Father Bill entered the Dominicans in 1988 and was ordained a priest in 1994. This CD recording grew out of the 30+ musical missions which Father Bill has preached in Catholic parishes throughout the United States since 1995. "Preacher of Grace" is one of many titles which Dominican tradition gives to St. Dominic.
Originally from Hagerstown, Maryland, Father Bill is the second son and youngest of Ann and Jack Garrott's eight children. He has 24 nieces and nephews and two grand-nieces. Father Bill has spent over 7 years serving as an associate pastor in various Dominican parishes in Ohio where he gained experience with RCIA, adult education, confirmation retreats, Bible studies, directing altar servers, lectors, and pro-life marches. In 1999 Father Bill received an M.A. in Spirituality from the University of St. Thomas Aquinas in Rome, better known as the Angelicum. Currently, he is the Director of Vocations for the Eastern Province of Dominican Friars.
