ABOUT THIS ALBUM

Album Notes
"No one will be fed, no countries will be saved from tyranny, if you can swing. However, when a person has that higher regard for life and expresses it through music, then music becomes important."

-- Kenny Werner

Guitarists from every corner of the globe collaborate on this release to raise money for Heifer International. These are exciting, unique sounds -- but the influences of Larry Carlton, Mike Stern, Jaco Pastorius, Robben Ford, Carlos Santana and Joe Satriani are evident here!
****************

This CD is unique in its content and in the organic way it came together. Guitarists from the United States, France, the Philippines and Australia met online and collaborated at a distance on this remarkable project. Standouts include performances by Philippine guitar genius Perf De Castro, blues master Rockin' Jimmy Crimins and jazz master Scott Lerner. Special guest appearance by ZEN GUITAR author Philip Toshio Sudo.

Other artists include Richard Young, Charles Rathmann, Francisco Mestre, Joaquin Gonzalez, with production assistance from Eric Swanson.

All proceeds go to Heifer International -- www. HEIFER.org. CDBABY is even reducing their transaction cost to that more cash goes to this great NGO.

***************
"There is no sitting quietly music on this album. It is all very energetic, soulful and, above all, very powerful... My official pronouncement on Will Play Guitar For Food is this: this is a kickin' album. It is non-stop, high-powered jazz and blues from start to end. You absolutely will not be disappointed, and you're donating to a great organization to boot."
-- Derick Winterberg, www.thesmoothjazzsite.com

"The cause is clearly the most essential reason for giving this album a listen, but it does happen to include a few fine examples of solo bass/guitar mastery (which should inspire any guitar student on a dry spell)."
-- Graham Fons, Shepherd Express, Milwaukee
