Stephane Wrembel is a French Guitarist, who lives in New york City. He is a composer and leader of his own band.
He regularly performs, and records with David Grisman, Lionel Loueke, Les Paul, Ryan Montbleau, Rushad Eggleston, Howard Alden, Mark O'Connor...

His music is universal, and touches a diverse audience. He has performed at various festivals including :
Rock : Berkfest 2002 and 2003, South by Southwest 2006
World : Hot Chili Pepper Festival 2004, The International Gypsy Guitar Festival 2005,
Jazz : The International Rochester Jazz Festival 2003, The NJ Jazzfest 2006
Gypsy : Djangofest Chicago 2004, Djangofest Northeast 2004, Djangofest NY 2005, Djangofest SF 2005, Django in June 2005, Djangofest LA 2006, Djangofest SF 2006, Django in June 2006
Wrembel’s band always generates great enthusiasm and excitement among the different crowds.

"When French musician Stephane Wrembel picks up a guitar and jams out one of his dizzying gypsy jazz tunes his left hand dances over the neck of the instrument and his right hand strums furiously over the strings. The notes are clear, but the hands are a blur. He's that fast.
Now he's twisting tradition by pulling in African, Cuban and rock rhythms to create a sound he calls 'gypsy jam'. - Lauren Johnston, amNewYork -

Awesome. A Must-Have for Django Fans.
Loved it from day 1 when I saw these guys play live at Barbes in Brooklyn, NY.
Anyone who likes Django willl love this rendition of some of the classics.
Also, Stephan is one of the most amazing guitarists - ever.

The only complaint I have is that CD#2 isn't out yet.

Buy this record.

is so good I use it on my films
Stephane's music is so alive that I use it in many of my films (www.monday9am.tv). Second album out soon I believe.

Romanos

Great new spin on the classics
This is the only Stephane Wrembel CD I've heard, but it's already a centerpiece in my collection. Wrembel has a truly original take on many favorite jazz standards, as well as some I've never heard. Though this is his first release, his skill and heart on the album instantly bring the great gypsy guitarists to mind. A few of the tracks seem a bit overcooked, but this is one artist we should all be keeping our eyes on.

Rabbi David

Transforms music into a spiritual experience!
Stephane Wrembel is visiting us from some other universe – the realm where spirit meets the physical world. His first CD is great, extraordinary, beyond words. I'm a rabbi who used to be a jazz concert producer – Wremble makes me want to produce concerts again just so I can hear him live again! Instead I'll just davven to the CD!

Arseny

great, can't wait for the next one
Great CD of both new and old tunes played wonderfully, highly recomended. CD is great for both sitting at home and having background music and driving on any kind of road.

Introducing Stephane Wrembel
Wonderful. Indispensable. Stephane is among the very best of Django\'s children, and his repertoire goes much beyond.

Mourijn

great
I am always on the look out for gypsy music and when Nic Askew mentioned Stephane I was very pleased to find some great music. Keep up the independent distribution!
