ABOUT THIS ALBUM

Album Notes
GENRE ANACHRONISMIA is a tongue-in-cheek poke at the endless search for a system of classifying genres. It means "genre out it's time". It seems that every music company or website comes up with a confusion of definitions of genre that leave the researcher scratching his head with a questioning look on his face.

Genre Anachronismia is a collection of ORIGINAL songs by W.T.Holland that include political and social satire, show tunes, and patriotic songs. The style of most of the songs is reminiscent of Cole Porter and Irving Berlin and other writers of the standards that preceded rock, bee-bop, rap, and the plethora of new genres that have emerged.

W.T.HOLLAND majored in Theory and Composition at Edinboro University of Pennsylvania where he earned his B.A. in music in 1994. He pursued post-graduate study in theory and composition at Arizona State University from 1994 to 1997.

He as released three previous CD's of entirely ORIGINALl songs;

1) QUIET TIMES-a collection of gospel/inspirational songs sung by Michael Rosness.
2) LISTEN TO YOUR LOVE-a collection of original songs of love sung by Michael Rosness and friends.
3) LOVE IS EVERYTHING- a second collection of love songs sung
by Michael Rosness and friends.

He is a member of ASCAP and the Arizona Songwriters Assn and has written over 300 songs including three musicals.
He currently is CEO of his own music production company and aids many young songwriters and singers in fulfilling their dreams.

He has been involved in music his entire life and has sung in many choral and barbershop groups. He has led and performed in musical theater for many years. He has had many years of experience in church music production and choral accompaniment.

His wife Happy and his four children have humored him in his love and pursuit of music for which he is humbly grateful.

Witty CD about social and political shortcomings.
“Genre Anachronismia” by the wry W.T.Holland is an in-your-face collection of folk/easy-listening tunes. Tackling social and political shortcomings with cynical lyrics, W.T.Holland demands attention with these witty tunes – and gets it. “That’s Why the Lawyers Are Rich” introduces listeners to this sarcastic criticism, while showing off some innovative instrumentation. Later on, Holland’s audio wonderland takes on a more serious tone with patriotic tunes like “Lady Liberty Duet.” Moreover, the vocals on “Genre Anachronismia” are perfect for this genre! Wrapping up this creative assembly is production that finds a great balance between vocals and instrumentation. Music lovers with a heavy sense of humor will find loads of laughs in “Genre Anachronismia!”
