Album Notes
After zipping through a live CD of instrumental jams and Yaks covers in April, drummer Steve Glover and guitarist Dave Lawson regrouped in June for a two-month series of sessions in which they wrote and recorded 12 all new songs featured here. The April sessions, augmented by bassist Robie Sumsuangco and Joshua Icban, loosened The Yaks\' musical chops considerably as the pair have here produced their finest effort yet.

Several times a week throughout the summer, The Yaks convened in Lawson\'s garage or living room to lay down live bass & drum tracks. In between sessions, Lawson applied guitar and vocal overdubs, and by this method the pair produced an energetically raucous new album. Although Simsuangco and Icban were not available for these sessions, the Yaks still had a little help from their friends. Joel Lawson, though not appearing on the final recording, sat in on guitar for the \"Like a Spider\" session on a creative Friday evening in late June, providing essential inspiration for the song\'s overall feel. Jason Grant, a former Yak currently living in Cleveland, sent his old partners a disc of recordings in progress in late July. The Yaks picked three of his songs and augmented Gran\'s multiple guitars with bass and drums recorded in the garage, and Lawson wrote words and recorded vocals for the songs that became \"Aesthesia,\" \"Circles,\" and \"La Femme de Funk.\"
