ABOUT THIS ALBUM

Album Notes
The CD primarily sounds like a nostalgic journey into the air of the Mediterranean Sea.
Musically wise, Yiorgos merges Balkan music forms with those of Italians, Gypsies and with the so-called "Mediterranean temperament". Based on his ability to mix and match elements from different musical styles and traditions in unusual combination, Yiorgos offers you a aural pleasure on which you can hear the "Gypsy Brass Band" playing with an accompaniment of mandolin and the "Balkan Percussions" with a classical guitar and strings ensemble.

The CD consists of 18 instrumental compositions with a total duration of 52 minutes.

Innovative, Emotional Instrumental CD
"Mediterranean Myths" by Yiorgos Magoulas is an emotional instrumental album that features innovative combinations of instruments. Somewhere in these eclectic arrangements a Mediterranean feel is present. The tracks all hold a certain power to them and are very cinematic. The tracks on this CD envoke emotion. The production quality is great, especially considering it is electronic/sample based. All in all, Mr. Magoulas' musical style is highly unique and refreshingly undefinable. Highlights include "Promise," which is very well arranged, has a great build and a wonderful medley of instruments. "Color Suite - Prelude" is a string arrangement that will pull right at your heart. "Phaedra" is an intense orchestral piece with nice percussive elements and more interesting instrument choices. If you like unique, emotion driven orchestral music, you'll like this CD.

MUZINE, magazine - Issue 5
If a man wants to be an instrument, the cello is definitely one of the most erotic choices. The "Prelude" by Yiorgos Magoulas for cello solo, even without words, will make you shudder and dreams ...

Ultimate musical experience
One of the best music in my opinion and according to my taste! The music of Yiorgos Magoulas managed to make me -even in my imagination- fly around the Mediterranean and to the whole world!
