After four years of consistent touring Yo Mama’s Big Fat Booty Band has released their first studio album.
The fifteen-song album, entitled Now You Know will make you bounce up and down, and up, and then down again. Some people call it funk. Some thrash and grind to epic guitar riffs and soaring solos. Others thirst for raw-dog drumming and pure horn-driven power. The Booty Band calls it BOUNCE.
“Our music makes people dance - it’s that simple,” explained John Paul Miller, founding member and guitar player. “The term Bounce Music stemmed from actions we see from the stage. When we play, people just bounce up and down, and up, and then down again.”
To support the new CD, Yo Mama's Big Fat Booty Band will tour throughout the Southeast and Gulf Coast beginning March 9th in Charleston, SC. The band’s 2007 tour schedule will also wind its way through Colorado and California, the Midwest, the Northeast, and Florida.
The Booty Band won this year’s Sonicbids contest to play aboard Jam Cruise 5, an opportunity which allowed them to rub shoulders and play sessions with the likes of Galactic, Burning Spear, Karl Denson, the Derek Trucks Band, Dumpstaphunk, to name a few. The band also recently signed on with the management team at Murphy to Manteo, the same folks who took Hootie and the Blowfish to the top.
Born in 2002, Yo Mama's Big Fat Booty Band has built a solid fan base through years of touring. With the anticipated release of Now You Know and tons of post-Jam Cruise 5 attention, the Booty Band will appear in 2007 at many of the nation’s high-profile concert venues and favorite music festivals.
