ABOUT THIS ALBUM

Album Notes
Hailing from New York City, Youth of Charge creates a sound that mirrors their city's eclectic and energetic vibe. Over the last few years the band steadily morphed into an experimental rock outfit. The original three members — who initially formed WhatGurdakWants — Harry Makris ("dmak" - drums & vocals), Pawel Gurdak ("pg" - bass & keyboard), and Roger Espiritu ("rago" - guitar) have enjoyed a fiercely loyal and ever-growing friendship. In 2011 Keith Berg ("stiggma") joined the group as lead singer and lyricist.

Youth of Charge announces Dreamworld, a self-released debut EP in 2012 delivering on their reputation for passion-fueled songwriting and energetic pop/rock melodies. This EP displays an accomplished style that is at once studied and inspired — a testament to a successful creative partnership and a band dynamic that only gets stronger. These debut tracks feature highlights like the gently rocking thoughtful lyrics of "Darkside", the masterfully layered dance beat of "Dreamworld", an emotive and gentle bass driven ballad in "Night Aint Over", the steady guitar strumming and booming yet controlled drumming in "Ghost" and the electric guitar crunch and power of the beat-heavy "Utopia". The genesis of their first EP success is proof that a band’s belief in itself was enough to elevate the music to levels of greatness.
