ABOUT THIS ALBUM

Album Notes
Recorded live at the World Festival of Sacred Music 2008, The Yuval Ron Ensemble performs the ecstatic music of the mystical Sufi traditions of the Middle East and Pakistan. The concert features the magnificent vocals of Najwa Gibran —acknowledged as one of the finest female Arabic singers living in the West—and special guest Sukhawat Ali Khan, a master qawwali (devotional) singer from Pakistan. A pioneering endeavor in bringing together the Middle Eastern and South Asian vocal and musical traditions into a new exhilarating trance-induced accord.

Exhilarating and hypnotic!
This live recording perfectly captures the ecstasy and tranquility of Qawwali music, a form of traditional, mystical Sufi music dating back to 8th century Persia. Its timeless appeal couldn’t be more enchanting as the often wordless vocals and trance-like melodies capture your imagination and guide the listener over the hypnotic aural landscapes. It’s truly exhilarating stuff. Featuring the outstanding vocal talents of Najwa Gibran and special guest Sukhawat Ali Khan, a master qawwali singer from Pakistan. It’s rare to find music that is spine-tingling and rapturous; this album is full of those moments.

Passion
Live recordings to prove just how gifted these musicians truly are. The recordings are incredible, but the true talent here is the Yuval Ron Ensemble and their ability to hypnotize a crowd with their instruments and passion alone. You haven't heard music like this!
