Album Notes
YYZed. Zed Leppelin. Zed and the Art of Motorcycle Maintenance. He Zed, She Zed. We don’t know where Zed came from, but we do know they play a fresh brand of progressive instrumental jazz fusion. Dynamics, Ebb and Flow, and Improvisational interaction mix with sophisticated compositions that just plain groove.

All of these elements are showcased on their new cd “You Are Here” from Tonart Records. The album was mixed and produced with attention to detail, sonic clarity and warmth, and will please the ears of audiophiles as well as I-Pod Users.

Zed push themselves even further in a live setting, and play on a regular basis at numerous festivals and clubs. Their goal is to make you come away thinking they are “3 Times Better Than Real Fruit!” as one of their song titles states.

If you’re in the mood for some easy listening mood music like Kenny G, run away now! On the other hand, if you appreciate music in the tradition of Weather Report, Return to Forever, the Dixie Dregs, Mahavishnu Orchestra, or Medeski, Martin, and Wood, then you’ve come to the right place.
