Australia's most traveled 'Traditional Jazz' band, the Sydney-Zenith is a high energy seven-piece hot group that has won an international reputation as big stage Ambassadors of Australian Jazz during the last two decades. With numerous high profile engagements under their belt, the ability to liven crowds worldwide have meant that requests for their return performances are frequent.
The Sydney-Zenith have played at international jazz festivals and 4/5 star hotel residences around the world including Austria, Belgium, Canada, Denmark, France, Germany, Holland, India (Bombay), Japan (Tokyo), Norway, Switzerland (Montreux), United Kingdom and the USA.
2004 brought a 12th overseas tour in May to jazz festivals on the Isle of Bute in Scotland and the 34th Dresden International Dixieland festival in Germany, one of the largest and the most important of its kind in Europe which has been running continuously since 1970 with audiences reaching 200,000 plus.
In Sydney they guarantee and maintain good entertainment with their easy listening and swing dancing Good-Time Jazz music. High CD sales and enthusiastic praise from music critics reflect their popularity, however one only needs to attend a live gig to see the extent of their skills and delightful presence.
The Sydney Zenith have performed at festivals, concert hall venues, on board cruise ships, casinos, hotels, in jazz club settings, on the road using pantechnicons in the Australian outback, shopping malls, at the Sydney 2000 Olympic Games, and the 2004 Sydney Festival with 60,000 audience live to screen, the band is an immediate hit.
